I don't know if this is ok, but here goes...if any of my flist has a facebook account I would love it if you friend me. I spend approximately 3 hours a day tied down to a dialysis machine and the activities on facebook help the time to fly. I enjoy the quizzes, hatchlings, pillow fight and farm town. If you do any of these...or are a member and other favorites i would love to hear from you or have you friend me...Thanks.

I'm not sure how many, if any, of my flist live near a Quiznos sandwich shop or have seen the latest Quiznos commercials, but I have to ask all my QAF friends. Couldn't you see a Mr. Brian Kinney coming up with those commercials? The commercials with the talking oven and Quizno employee, and a few sexual innuendos. My 15 year old daughter rolls her eyes every time the commercial comes on and says that's just wrong.

Just had to make the observation, if you've seen it let me know what you think.

For anybody who missed my entry last year on April 1st about my favorite April Fool's prank this is what I wrote...

I wouldn't call it the best but the cutest was when my daughter was in preschool. I picked her up at the bus stop and she came up to me and said mommy I got hurt. She held up her finger and had a band-aid on it. She told me I had to look at it, when I took the band-aid off it said April Fools underneath. The teacher sent all the kids home like that and told them what to do, Mariah was so proud of herself for fooling me. It will always be remembered as my favorite April Fools.

The reason for the refresh on the memory is my daughter (who is 15 now) came home today and tried to pull it on me again. I didn't fall for it and I explained to her my days of looking at boo-boos on her finger are in the past and she would have to try harder than that. Needless to say she was very disapointed and had a normal teenage pout session.

This was the best I've seen today in that I got a good laugh.

I plan on being cremated, then scattered where ever my loved ones feel is appropriate (I've told them not to hold onto my ashes because they are not me. I also do not want a marker, unless they want to donate a little money to the local library and have my name engraved on a brick. I don't want any more money spent on my remains or memorial than is neccassary.

My husband woke me at 3 this morning to tell me I may not be going to work today. When I became coherent enough to understand what was going on I found out the culvert under our driveway went out and we were stuck. Over the holidays we got close to three feet of snow, it started down pouring last night. The snow and rain just weren't a great combo. The county repaired it later this morning. Whatcom county in Washington state where I live is a disaster, roads are closed everywhere. Luckily I do dialysis at home so I don't have to travel anywhere.

I hope anyone who is on my flist that lives in or has families in the areas that are flooding are safe and dry

I'd have to say Eeyore, because I don't do well in confined spaces and would go crazy with Tigger's bouncing. Now out in the open I'd find either's company enjoyable.

Anniversaries

Today is my wedding anniversary, I've been married 18 years! My husband brought me flowers and a balloon to work. It was a real surprise because we usually don't do anything for each other. I tell him I'd rather be surprised by something he does for me then have him do something for me because the calender tells him to. So he surprised me when the calender told him to (can't beat that!).

Sadly this is also the anniversary of my mom's death, she died 2 years ago today (I really miss her). I called my dad and he is doing good, so I couldn't ask for more.

Hope all on my f-list is doing well.

I'm Healed!

After only 4 weeks my cracked kneecap is healed. I have a twinge of pain every now and then, but for the most part you'd never know I was hurt. I can bend it to it's full use and move around like nothing happened. I realize how lucky I am, I could have had to have surgery or physical therapy. I am very glad about my recovery, so I had to share.

Next on my medical list, next month I may be having my para-thyroids removed. I had testing yesterday (I'm now radio-active) I'll know more next Wednesday.

"Queer as Folk" I think there are a lot of issues that weren't covered. Besides I was not happy about how things ended between Brian and Justin (luckily I have fan-fics to continue the story for me, and all of you out there do a wonderful job of filling the void).

Is there a story behind your real name or avatar? How did you end up being called that?

My Dad picked my first name. He always told me it came from a song when I was growing up but he never told me what song. When I was about 13 I was looking through a folk song book and found the song "The Wind Is Called Mariah". I read the words to the song and found my name, I got really excited and showed my Dad. He just shook his head at me like I was crazy and said "I know that's the song I named you from. On that day I decided if I had a daughter I would name her from the song, and 13 years later I had my Mariah.

Berrynutz is because the word berry is in my last name and I like to play with it. I can at times act a little crazy so..."Berrynutz seemed appropriate.

I fell today and cracked my left knee cap...so I won't be able to drive for the next couple of weeks. I feel so stupid I tripped at work outside the building. So basically layed next to the parking lot out where everyone could pass and see me while the EMT's checked me out and we waited for my husband to arrive to take me to the Hospital...I spent alot of time laughing at myself though. Teaching swim lessons in a week should be very interesting. Other than this small glitch my life is great, I hope everyone on my f-list is having a great summer!

The move is finally over! Cable, phone and internet are on, life can now go back to normal. I now remember why I haven't moved in the last 12 years I hate it. I love my new home though it is going to be so nice getting out of the mold and mildew we were living in, I can already feel the difference.

I now look forward to catching up on all the fics out there and making comments again soon.

What's your favorite memory of your mother?

The last couple of years before she died of cancer I would go visit her in April and August (she lived 4 and a half hours away). She usually went to bed pretty early because of her illness, so I would go into her room and lay on my dad's side of the bed and watch TV (Monk, Touched By An Angel, Doc) with her. I can't recall any conversation in particular but I know we would just talk and watch these shows that I usually wouldn't watch. It really helped me get through the grieving process when she died to have memories of those times that were just ours. It doesn't make me miss her any less, but whenever I see one of those shows on TV I can't help but smile and think of her.

I'd like to give a hug to and wish a great big Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mom's out there (that includes all of you who aren't necessarily a mom, but have touched a life in a motherly way!).

Yes, once! It was in my friends pool at 11:00 at night. It was fun and very relaxing and I would probably do it again with the right person and right occasion. Being a lifeguard for the last 25 years I'm kind of surprised that it hasn't happened more often, since swimming is a big part of my life.

This year I will be doing the ultimate spring cleaning... I 'm moving into a new place at the end of the month. The last time we moved was 12 years ago and we're moving from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedromm, so there is going to be a lot of purging. It seems the only time I do major cleaning is when we move, so that would be my tip...move often! lol
